A MAN who sent Facebook messages of a sexual nature to a nine year old is not allowed to have contact with children under 17.
Phillip McLintock, of Elba Street Ayr admitted intentionally sending numerous sexual messages on the social media site to the girl on January 25, 2015.
The 30-year-old had previously been put on a community payback order for the offence on July which said he was to have no contact with children or young children under the age of 17 unless approved by his supervisor.
At a review hearing before Sheriff Desmond Leslie at Ayr Sheriff Court recently this restriction was continued.
Speaking on his behalf defence solicitor Ian Gillies said: "He should not be with anyone under the age of 17. He does suffer quite badly from Mental Health issues."
Sheriff Leslie responded: "I am going to review the order and I think this is for your own safety. You will have no contact with young people under the age of 17 unless through your supervisor.
"You are already subject to that anyway but I think I will just allow the order to run without any further review."
