FOR the first time in the Figure Skating world, three local clubs have joined together to hold an IJS Singles Figure Skating Open.

Ayr Figure Skating club, Auchenharvie Ice Dance & Figure Skating Club and Galleon Figure Skating Club have decided to band together in order to add another Scottish Open to the Competition Calendar

The clubs, from South, North and East Ayrshire have decided to name the event Skate Ayrshire which will take place from September 2 until September 4 in Auchenharvie Leisure Centre.

It will be attended by single skaters from Beginner to Senior Level with some entrants chasing a score to make them eligible to skate in the British Championships.

Single skaters will have an opportunity to perform freestyle movements of Jumps, Spins and Footwork in a graceful manner to music and will be scored by a panel of judges.

Skate Ayrshire will also provide a unique opportunity for exposure to local businesses as there is the chance to sponsor an event or take out an advert in the programme.

The organisation would also like to invite you down to see first-hand what a graceful and amazing sport Figure Skating can be.
