PRIMARY school kids from Troon posted letters to Australia as part of a relocation ceremony for the world’s oldest surviving clipper ship in September 2013. Boys and girls from St Patrick’s Primary School visited the Scottish Maritime Museum where Sam Galbraith, chairman of the museum, handed over ownership of The Carrick/City of Adelaide Clipper to the Clipper Ship City of Adelaide Ltd.

The former Marr College and Struthers Primary was named in the GB Four-Man Bobsleigh team  for their first race of a crucial 2013- 14 season, in Calgary, Canada.

Ayr Advertiser: South Ayrshire steak pies were judged amongst the best in. Charles Duncan the Quality Butcher inSOUTH Ayrshire steak pies were judged amongst the best in. Charles Duncan the Quality Butcher in Troon and Pollock Williamson in Ayr, both won two awards each at the 2013 Scottish Craft Butchers Steak Pie Evaluation. Ayr Advertiser: Troon Primary School got a lesson in kite and windsurfing in 2013 during a special assembly. LocalTROON Primary School got a lesson in kite and windsurfing during a special assembly. Local windsurfer Stefano Kennedy attended the assembly to speak to the kids about the sport.
