No casualties have been reported following a fire in Ayr town centre on Friday afternoon.
Drivers were being urged to avoid the town centre with High Street and Newmarket Street closed at Sandgate in both directions.
Emergency services were in attendance, and confirmed the fire was concentrated on a flat on High Street.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 11.39am on Friday, 19 January, to reports of a dwelling fire on High Street, Ayr.
“Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances and specialist resources to a fire affecting the front door of a flat.
“There are no reported casualties, and crews remain on scene.”
