Ayr Ice Rink is not "under offer" - after a computer glitch suggested that the facility was set to be sold.
Ryden, the real estate company behind the plans to sell the building, have confirmed that a computer software upgrade led to an "under offer" status being noted on their website.
The site is still for sale, with some discussions taking place with parties who are showing an interest in the site.
A Ryden spokesperson told the Daily Record: “We’re having discussions with various parties about the rink but it’s difficult to put a timescale on the conclusion of a sale.”
The rink has been lying empty since it was put up for sale back in September last year following a campaign to keep it open.
In August 2023, investors led by Glasgow Ice Centre had submitted an offer, in partnership with organisations including Scottish Curling, Kyle Figure Skating Club, Ayr Figure Skating Club and Ayr Bruins Junior Ice Hockey Club.
However, this deal fell through and owners Ayrshire Curlers Ltd placed the venue on the market.
A campaign was launched to save the future of the facility, with a petition attracting over 10,000 signatures.
